QUOTE(?ül????dH??und @ Jan 4 2008, 06:34 PM) I love the original Prime...You had the feeling it was only you, your gun and nothing else but enemies to exterminate! I know. A lot of good games these days implement desolation much more (BioShock[?] etc). However, Prime 1 was easily one of the first games like that. It was a breakthrough in its own time; as the GCN began to lose the console war, Prime 1 became a killer app, suprising everyone. Even a tough-ranking game critic like GameSpot gave Prime 1 a 9.7/10.0, easily one of the best games ever. The desolation of the game made it unique... and powerful.

I haven't played Prime 3 yet, but I'd choose Echoes over Prime 1 anytime. I believe Retro managed to fix a couple of things I wasn't entirely pleased with in the first game, such as the music and some details regarding Samus' model. Prime 1 had great music, but IMO Echoes' was much more better and fitting (I'm still extremely pissed off with Nintendo because they never released an OST). In Prime 1 Samus had very few animations during the cut scenes, and most of the time she looked rather stiff and also the lines around her armor chest were horribly blurry; all these issues were successfully fixed in Echoes. Echoes was also harder than Prime 1. The only problem I found with Echoes was the multiplayer, I've always thought Metroid games have no need for such things; if Retro hadn't implemented it they could have fixed a couple of minor issues, such as a noticeable clipping between Samus' forefinger and her arm cannon when holding it recharged... another map would've been great too.
Also thought Samus without her suit looked way better in Echoes than in Prime 1, there her head looked like it was cut from another body and pasted in the Gravity suit, ugly.
Looks like Corruption is way ahead in the pool, can't wait to play it.

I'm just gonna have to side on all the games.
Metroid Prime 1 was awesome. Although it had very few boss fights, the music and other things in the game did it for me. The only hard part was finding that tricky Pike Artifact. It kept me from beating the game. That and the fact my first MP1 disc got cracked and hardly works now. (Not to mention my GameCube got messed up...and got my data corrupted about two or three times.)
Metroid Prime 2 was a little harder, but had plenty of cool enimies and better boss fights. It still felt slightly short. But anyways, I thought Quadraxis was the best boss in the game, if not, the most enormous boss in the series.
Although I don't own the game yet, Metroid Prime 3 looks awesome, what with the awesome boss fights and mind-boggiling puzzels. I was also suprised at the fact that the characters had voices this time!
Like I said, all the games are, and *look awesome as well.
(* means MP3 looks good because I've not bought it yet.)

IMO Metroid Prime is the best because it has that classic metroid feel to it.

Prime 2 was ridiculous, the ammo system was bull and the light and dark puzzles were un intuitive and repetitive
The original was the best
But Prime 3 was extremely fun as well.

without a doubt, the best was metroid prime. it had better bosses, better screenplay, better gameplay and overall, better music comeing up a close 2nd would be corruption because of the graphics and the voice-acting. (loved the frendly bounty hunters thing)
i thought echoes sucked because of the ing thing which made no sense to the metroid... religion
ing just reminded me of fairy-tale monsters which made no sense as metroid games always manage to explain things scientificly

Metroid Prime 3 was my fav it was very hard on hyper difficalty. Music was okay. Controlls rock. But gameplay wheres the felling if beging alone. There are to many objectivis.

I liked all three, but the third one was probably the best, followed by the second. It's a close competition though.

I loved Metroid Prime - It was the freshest, It was Innovative, and It was my first really "modern" game.
I loved Echoes because it was everything the first was but with a darker twist - especially at the end.
Corruption simply rocked.

I loved #1. The worlds were just ultra awesome. Phenendra(sp?) Drifts was so awesome and creepy. I've still never beat Echos. I can't beat the last boss. It'll probably never be done...
