Part 5
Cerberus fight should be 3-4 pages. The rest is for Porky fight.
The one-headed cerberus jumps down and stares its opponents in the face.
Battle Text
I've finally arrived. But this dimension belongs to me now. Take it from me, if you dare!
Kang
So this is the thing controlling all the animals…
Picky
(exhausted) No problem… we can take it on.
The cerberus roars and then charges very quickly. It tears into Picky and sends him flying.
Tracy
Picky!
Tracy stares at the beast, and then unleashes PK Puppies. The beast is knocked back by the force, but is completely unhurt. Lydia starts shooting at it, but the shots only bounce back.
Lydia
What the?!
Kang
It's got a power shield on it! This thing can use PSI!
Tracy
And nothing can even hurt it! How do we fight back?
Kang
We have to use PSI ourselves! I-I think…
Tracy
Got it. You two keep it busy. I'll go help Picky and see if I can get that shield killer working.
Lydia
Keep it busy? Tracy, you're the one who can use PSI!
Tracy
I know, but Picky needs help!
Kang
Oh, man…
Lydia and Kang turn to the creature.
Lydia
Hey, over here, ugly!
Cerberus turns and roars.
Kang
Okay! Time to try something new that I've been working on. PK Tornado!
A small twister attacks the beast, spewing lightning in the process. The wind isn't strong enough to move the creature, though. Rain hits the beast. It growls, and then runs after Kang, who runs away.
Lydia
What was that? All you did was make it wet!
Kang
I gave it all I got! Nothing hurts it!
Tracy helps Picky up, but he's hurt bad.
Picky
*cough* Tracy, this might be it for me… Tell my dad… that's he's a fat jerk…
Tracy
Knock it off, Picky. You're just winded. I think I have another technique… But I haven't used it
yet, so this might feel a bit weird…
Picky
W-what? What if it fries my insides or something?
A soft green/blue glow comes from Tracy's hands as she uses life up.
Picky
Oh, wow. I don't know what you're doing, but I think it's working.
Man
You're no ordinary kids, are you?
Tracy and Picky look up to see an elderly janitor with a metal broom.
Janitor
I watched how you kids have been trying to save this town from those creatures…
Picky
Yeah, well, why not? If we save it, it'll look good on our college applications, right?
Janitor
Ha, isn't he the funny one? Maybe I can help ya out a bit. Tell you what, little lady. You trade me that
rare Winters Blue Elm broom there for this new-fangled mechanical nightmare I can't get working.
Tracy
Huh? You want to trade brooms?
Picky
That's what you fight with Trace. Why not get a better one? We could use it for this fight…
Tracy goes ahead and trades the brooms.
Janitor
Best of luck to ya. I've got to get back to cleaning up Professor Andonuts' office now…
He leaves. Tracy and Picky stand up, with Tracy holding up the new broom.
Tracy
It really is a mechanical broom… I guess I'll call it… Mecha Duster!
Picky
That's great, but how are we going to stop that thing?
Tracy
You got that shield killer device?
Picky
Right here!
Picky takes it out, but it's broken.
Picky
Um, hold on… Give me a minute to fix this…
Tracy
How can you fix that? It's in pieces!
Picky takes out his swiss army knife and starts working on the device. Elsewhere, Kang and Lydia are still struggling with the beast and running from it. It is launching freeze, fire, and thunder attacks all over ripping up buildings and junk.
Kang
I don't get it! That Tornado technique I'm working on is awesome!
Lydia
Maybe it wasn't powerful enough. You are just a kid, you know.
Kang
Ugh. So what?! I've got loads of talent!
Lydia
Oh yeah? Prove it. Actually manage to hurt that creature.
Kang
Fine. Know what? I will!
Kang turns around and holds his ground. He becomes intense.
Kang
This will destroy his defenses! PK… Starstorm!!!
Nothing happens at first. Then, a single small glowing star hits the beast on the head.
Lydia
What the heck was that?!
Kang
I tried as hard as I could! Dad was twice my age when he learned it! Give me a break!
The creature grins evily. It lets out a burst of breath, and then it casts its own star storm. Dozens of stars come raining down, tear up the road and nearby buildings. Invert the star colors to make them look evil.
Kang
No way! That's not fair! Why can it use starstorm?! What is this crap?!
Lydia grabs crying Kang by the collar and runs away, dodging stars. It begins chasing after them again, but is quickly hit by a splash of red waves. its shield glows orange, and then dissolves. We look over to see Picky using the shield killer triumphantly. They aren't too far from the time tear. The beast roars and charges. Picky takes out the bazooka and fires. The beast jumps over the shell, and it explodes into a nearby building. The beast skids on the ground up to the two. Tracy swings the broom and bashes the creature hard on the head, and it comes to a stop.
Tracy
Bad dog thing!
The creature growls. it summons a torrent of fire that surrounds Picky and Tracy. "One-Headed Cerberus Launched an Intense Burst of Flame!"
Lydia
Look out! Get out of there!
A panel of suspense. Then, the fire bounces back, burning everything nearby to a crisp. The cerberus' fur catches on fire and it runs away. As it leaves, we see Tracy maintaining a blue PSI shield triumphantly. The creature, its tail between its legs, whines and whimpers and jumps through the time tear. Lydia and Kang come up and they do victory gestures and stuff.
Kang
You're amazing, Tracy! You're just learning PSI left and right… But I guess that can be expected with
your brother being Ness and everything… (And you're putting me to shame, sigh)
Lydia
Ah, so the only thing that could hurt was its own attacks… And you can use shields now too, hm? You got any other surprises in store?
Tracy
I don't think so… I think that's pretty much all I can learn for now. I mean, that's what my mind is telling me, at least.
Picky
Hey, we stopped that thing in any case. Do you think everything will stop being possessed?
Lydia
I doubt it. Maybe just easier to deal with. The time tear is still there, so we probably didn't change much
of anything…
Picky
Well, at least things are quiet for a change. Let's rest a bit…
Tracy
Yeah.
Added scene, should only be a page long, or just a little longer. Kang and Lydia are resting on the steps of the university. Picky and Tracy are one a bench behind them. Kang is chugging down a bottle of water with a DX label. On the next panel, we see from behind Tracy and Picky. They're looking out at the tear.
Tracy
I swear, this is the longest day ever…
Picky
Yeah, feels like coming here in your mom's car this morning was a long time ago.
Tracy is looking over her mechanic broom.
Tracy
Why is everything trying to attack us? Or maybe they're just going after me…
Picky
Because of your powers? Maybe they think you're Ness or something…
Tracy
When Onett was invaded, I was really scared… But then Ness dropped by and said he was going to
protect everyone. I just wish I could've done something back then.
Picky
… That Porky robot thing… My brother must've sent it. Or maybe it got lost or something. Why do you
think it exploded after it saw us?
Tracy
I don't know. It'd just be nice if this was all just over already.
We go down to Lydia and Kang.
Kang
Um, Lydia… Thanks for all the help back there.
Lydia
… Yeah, you're welcome.
They say nothing for a panel.
Lydia
I can't believe you all put up with me so easily…
Kang
Huh?
Lydia
I know I must sound mean a lot. But compared to other kids in my time, I'm actually a nice person.
Kang
So most people are… mean in your time?
Lydia
I guess you can say that.
Kang
Well, I guess I'm used to that. You remind me of my little sister, kind of. She's only three, but she
teases me all the time! I mean, she pranks me more than I prank all the guards!
Lydia
You have a little sister that's like me, and you have to live with her? Geez, you must hate her.
Kang
Of course I don't! You shouldn't dislike someone just cause they're a little mean to you.
Lydia
… That's really sweet, Kang. You're nicer than I thought you were.
Kang
H-hey, don't get all creepy again! I got my fill of that when you were brainshocked.
Lydia smiles.
Picky
Anyway, maybe Dr. Andonuts knows a way to get the tear closed. Let's go see if he's made any…
Everything starts rumbling. The time tear becomes huge—bigger than ever before. Parts of the surrounding buildings start tearing apart and being engulfed by it. Might even want to do an overhead shot to see how big it is. It shrinks in slow motion/very dramatic way. As it shrinks, we see white robot legs… and then a body, and then at last, a black visor. Standing in front of the tear is a massive white robotic shell.
Picky
What… what is that thing?
Tracy
I think we should check it out.
Kang
Oh, man, why does she always rush into things like that!
They run down to the tear. The robot takes a few steps forward. The black visor opens, revealing… old Porky. We see the shock in Picky's eyes.
Picky
…!
Tracy
Could that be… ?
Lydia
That was the machine that attacked me…
Kang
That thing? What is it? Who's that inside?
Picky calms down and slowly goes into a smile.
Porky
Have you all… *cough* been having fun so far?
Picky
Heh… Big bro… Wow. Look at you. You look… cool.
Porky
… Picky. You're so scrawny. Is everyone still taking your food?
Picky
Why don't you get out of that thing and come home? Mom and Dad want you back… They won't even
get out the belt this time!
Porky
… Do you think I want to play with you, Picky? *cough* I'm here on business…
Picky
Um… where have you been?
Porky (robot leg pointing to Lydia)
All over… I don't know how long I have… *cough*
(robot leg pointing to Lydia)
I've been looking for her… Give me her, and I won't hurt any of you…
Tracy
No way! Lydia's our friend!
Tracy fires off a flash in Porky's face, grabs Lydia, and the group runs a bit.
Porky
Ha… ha… this will be fun.
Porky's robot jumps up and comes down on the road, making craters. It blocks the group.
Lydia
Ugh, it's faster than it looks…
Picky
Porky… what have you done to yourself? Why did you leave?
Porky
I… had a greater destiny. I follow Giygas, whose ambition is still a part of me… Wherever I go, his
influence goes… *cough* But I never expected to come this close to home again…
Picky
What are you talking about?
Porky
I have been traveling for thousands of years. Across time… across space… I wish to be there to witness
the end… of the universe.
The end… of everything.
Lydia
And why does that involve me?
Porky
I see no need to explain myself to you… None of you… But Picky… You are invited to come with me…
Picky
…
Tracy
Picky, don't listen to him!
Porky
Help me, Picky… You and I… There will never be two brothers like us again…
I have so many stories I could share with you… The universe could be our little toy…
Picky
Brothers… You call us brothers…
Enter a six panel flash back, with three panels on either side. This is comparing Picky's and Tracy's lives with their older brothers. On the first left, we see Picky and Porky watching a movie together, with Porky hogging all the popcorn and candy. Tracy and Ness play super nintendo. On the second left, Picky is watching Porky head off to the meteor site through the upstairs window, looking worried. On the right, we see Tracy looking down at Ness. Exactly the same. The last two are a bit later. Picky is all by himself, looking sad, watching TV in the dark. Ness and Mom are looking at the photo album, with Tracy at his side.
Picky
After that night the meteor fell… you disappeared. And now you come back, after twelve years. All of that time waiting for you to come back, and this is what you want me to help you do? Destroy the world
or something?
Porky
…
Picky takes out the bazooka.
Picky
Have a taste of heavily armed Picky, you big, fat, stupid jerk!
Picky fires the bazooka, but the explosion has no effect.
Porky
Ha… ha… ha… Don't make me laugh. This armor was meant to travel through the most dangerous
reaches of the universe… There is no way you could harm me…
Tracy
You leave him alone!
Tracy fires PK Puppies, but it only bounces off and hits her.
Kang
He's got both kinds of shields at once?!
Picky (grinning)
Heh… Too bad I have this…
Picky uses the shield device. But the large generator thing on Porky's machine's back whirrs loudly and creates a new sparkling shield that flows over the robot.
Porky
This device can generate new shields in a split second… I have been in the middle of massive space battles between warring alien species… and have gotten out unharmed. There is no way… you can hurt my armor… Stop trying to fight me… And listen…
Porky's machines emit orange and blue rays on the party. They feel weak and all drop to their knees.
Porky
I just lowered both your offensive… and defensive capabilities… Just like that… I don't have to hurt
any of you…
We see Lydia and Picky both PO'd during this dialogue.
Porky
Lydia… I need your knowledge of time travel. Picky… i would like to have you at my side. Perhaps…
you can help get rid of my boredom… I am so very bored… of everything. It sickens me. *cough*
Picky
I'm not coming with you!
Porky
Come now… what has this rotten, filthy, boring world ever given you?
Tracy
Picky…
Picky thinks back. Enter another flash back. Four panels this time. We see Picky in the hallway, looking on as Lardna pays more attention to dressing up a fat cat. In another, this one in winter so there's snow, Picky's dad, on a cell phone, is yelling at Picky to leave him alone and is pointing at the door. (Can't you see I'm talking to someone?!) In another, Picky is older and is in high school. A bunch of bullies have dropped him in a trash can and are calling him a loser and stuff. In the last panel, Picky is being taken away by two cops after spray painting one of Onett's billboards (the Onett kids are bright and strong one). Tracy watches from behind it. The drawing/word isn't complete yet before Picky is taken away. The road is blocked off.
Back in the present, we see a small series of panels where Picky looks at Porky, and then to Tracy, who smiles back at him over 2 panels.
Porky
The only thing this world gave me was the want to destroy it! So what about you? *cough cough*
What has it given you, little brother?
A remix of those four flashback panels happens. Tracy helps Picky get the awful makeup off of his cat, (maybe named Pickster or Picky Jr.), Tracy meets Picky outside the house on the doorstep with dad still audible from inside, Tracy helps Picky out of the garbage can, and Tracy comes out dressed as burglar to complete Picky's graffiti.
Picky
It gave me a friend!
Picky drops the bazooka to the ground and charges at Porky.
Tracy
Picky, no!
Picky says this over the next few panels.
Picky
Which is something - you will - never have!
Porky swings one of the legs out, but Picky jumps over, lands on it, runs up to the body, and slides over to the large shield device. He takes out his knife's screwdriver and begins working on it.
Porky
Get off of my machine!
With screws flying everywhere, Picky then kicks the device's shell off, and then rips some big important looking thing out of the insides. The shields deactivate with a sound effect.
Picky
I don't know what this thing is, but I think it worked!
Porky
You can't do this to me! I'm your brother!
Porky shakes Picky off, who ends up crashing into Tracy.
Porky
I'll show you… Fools…
Two slots open on Porky's robot's body, and a few Porky bots come out. A small fighting montage follows where they have to deal with the bots while avoiding Porky's attacks. The bots explode after a little damage. Format the fight so the rest of this part works nicely.
Lydia
The machine is slow… If we could just do enough damage to it and make it stop moving…
Porky
I'm bored of this fight…
Porky's front grabber claws extend and fire out at Lydia, who rolls away as the grabbers slam into the ground. Kang comes and cuts the grabbers off the body. Lydia opens fire on the body, leaving black marks but not much else.
Tracy
We can't hold him off much longer!
Lydia
I know, but we're not doing enough damage!
Kang
Hm… Looks like it's really up to me…
Kang steps forward away from the others.
Porky
Get out of my way, shrimp!
Porky comes down with a leg to attack Kang, but Tracy rolls in and blocks it with her broom.
Tracy
Whatever you're doing Kang, do it fast!
The leg pushes into the broom, bending it a bit. Kang concentrates, and we enter his mind for a moment. Kang is training with Poo on a Dalaam hill. There are blast marks everywhere. Kang's little sister is sitting on boulder, her legs dangling from the side.
Kang
*huff* *huff* You see that one, Dad? Six lightning strikes in a row… Does that make me good enough?
Poo
It's not about being "good enough," Kang. I admit you are very talented for your age. But you know
nothing of restraint! You could hurt yourself the way you behave.
Kang
Pleeeease, Dad, just teach me that technique! I'll never use it!
Ling
Um, then why learn it at all?
Kang
By never, I mean almost never. Like, I'll only use it when I really, really need to!
Poo
Kang, I don't think I can entrust this technique to you. You are simply too young. You will only strain
yourself trying to use it.
Kang
And is that worse than me getting killed?
Poo and Ling just stare at him for a panel.
Ling
But Kang, you're so small! How can you shake the stars?
Kang
I don't care if I'm small! If I make friends I'd risk my life for, then there might come a time when I need
to use this!
Poo
Very well, Kang… I will teach you.
Kang
R-really?
Poo (sneaky eyes)
Just, whatever you do, don't tell your mother…
Kang opens his eyes.
Kang
I. Am. NOT. A SHRIMP!
Porky
You're right! You're a roach that's about to get squished !
Kang
PK… STARSTOOOORM! (Please... please, please, please work!)
Glowing stars come down and slam into Porky. The armor is badly dented and leaking exhaust. Dust fills the air. The team takes defensive positions and waits to see if it's over.
Porky
Ha… So… you managed to damage my defensive shell… But I have a surprise…
Smoke pours out from the cracks in between each leg segment. Armored plates come off the legs one by one and hit the ground. When the smoke and dust clears, we see the real Porky bot, its eight legs connected in pairs. The legs then separate with a couple close ups on them to form 8 in all. Then we see the machine in its fullness, might want to make this an especially big panel. It's one we've been waiting for.
Porky
I refuse to be beaten! You pathetic bunch stand no chance against my new combat machine!
Lydia
What the heck? I thought we had won!
Picky
There was a second machine inside the first this entire time?
Kang
Um, not good… I think I exhausted my PSI with that last attack…
Porky charges forward, knocking both Kang and Lydia away. He then multi-jabs (like in SSBB, duplicate the leg and add low opacity copies around it) at Tracy, who barely dodges or blocks with her broom. The machine leaps backwards and rests at an angle.
Porky
Ha… ha… ha… Hahahaha! Eat these!
A massive barrage of missiles fires from Porky's back, spewing smoke everywhere and whistling. Tracy and Picky's eyes grow wide. Kang puts up a power shield. A couple of missiles explode and do no damage, but the shield is over powered and dissolves. The rest of the missiles hit the ground in front of them. They are thrown backwards and their clothes are covered in burn marks.
Porky
Excellent… I knew this armor would perform flawlessly…
Porky walks over and lifts up a leg threateningly over Tracy.
Porky
And now you get smushed!
Tracy closes her eyes. The leg comes down… Only to hit metal, denting it.
Porky
What?!
We zoom out and see Ness blocking the leg. A bandage is wrapped around his head, his hair is messy, and his shirt is untucked.
Ness
Porky…
Close up on Porky.
Porky
Ness…
Zoom way out to see Ness defending against Porky, holding the bat out with both arms like a shield.
Porky
I've been waiting for this… for centuries… Hahaha… Let's go, loser! Spankety spankety!
Note: throughout this battle, on a few choice panels, one of Marvin's bunny appears in the background.
Narration
It was probably destiny that brought these two together once more…
Porky presses against Ness' bat. It begins to bend.
Ness
(Porky… what have you done to yourself?)
